Touchstone Energy Cooperatives Scholar of the Week

Since 2002, the region’s local Touchstone Energy® Cooperatives have been recognizing top senior students in a feature called “Touchstone Energy Scholar of the Week.” The region’s electric cooperatives and Dakota News Now continue this tradition of highlighting senior high school students that excel in the classroom and community.

Beginning in September, Touchstone Energy® Cooperatives choose an outstanding senior each week from an area high school that has been nominated by that school’s faculty. The senior selected will receive a $250 check from their local Touchstone Energy® Cooperative, will be featured on Dakota News Now and will also earn a chance to win one of two (2) $500 scholarships OR a $1,000 scholarship at the end of the year during the Touchstone Energy® Scholar Banquet held each spring.

School Administrators: If there are outstanding seniors in your school that you would like to nominate, please go to https://www.yourcooppower.com/scholar-of-the-week/nominate, tell us about them and attach photos of the nominated students. In addition to hearing about students planning to head to a four-year school, we are particularly interested in hearing about students attending a technical school following graduation.

The program runs each school year from September through May, but nominations must be submitted by the December deadline.
