Sioux Valley Energy received national recognition from Touchstone Energy® Cooperatives for earning a ‘Four-Star Cooperative’ status for service excellence. Sioux Valley Energy is one of less than 50 electric co-ops from across the nation to earn the four-star status. There are over 800 electric cooperatives in the United States. Sioux Valley Energy announced the accomplishment on social media during National Cooperative Month, which is recognized in October.
“We are pleased to have achieved this high honor. It demonstrates Sioux Valley Energy’s commitment to service and ongoing employee education, and our member-owners will reap the rewards of this effort. The Sioux Valley Energy mission statement is—‘Serving Our Members. Always’. Our participation in this program, which is focused on service excellence, is just one example of how we are continuously working to serve our members in the best way possible,” remarked Tim McCarthy, Sioux Valley Energy General Manager and CEO.
Sioux Valley Energy earned the prestigious ‘Four-Star Cooperative’ status for its dedication to providing service excellence education for all employees. The training commitment included four, full-day sessions. Topics consisted of advanced communication skills, adopting a can-do attitude, and proactive anticipation of member needs. The four-star status verifies that Sioux Valley Energy is on track to become one of the best in the industry by preparing its employees to provide superior service to its members and serve as ambassadors for the Cooperative.
