Sign up for the Time of Use Rate on your account for a chance to win one of five $100 cash prizes. Members must sign up to request the TOU rate option to enter. Submission of contest entry signs your account up for a three-month risk-free trial of the time of use rate. The TOU rate will start with your August reading date.
The TOU rate can lower your energy bills when you shift electric use to off-peak times when energy charges are at a very reduced rate. The TOU rate impacts the usage of your whole home/account. Save money for shifting some of your daily household chores like laundry and dishwashing to off-peak hours. There are 16 hours of every day at the cheaper off-peak rate and 8 hours at the on-peak rate (program is 7 days/week). You will pay 6.62 cents/kWh for energy usage during the off-peak hours from 10:00 a.m, – 4:00 p.m. and again from 9:00 p.m. – 7:00 a.m. You will pay 17.01 cents/kWh for energy usage during on-peak hours which are 7:00 am – 10:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. This rate compares to the standard rate of 11.25 cents/kWh charged for usage consumed any time of day. Members under the electric heat program will continue to receive the submetered electric heat rate of 6.85 cents/kWh. During the three-month risk-free trial, you will be billed whichever rate is to your advantage as you get acclimated to the new rates and times.
Each monthly billing statement will include a red note under the bar chart for usage and weather data to indicate how the TOU rate performed compared to the standard rate. The TOU rate will continue after the trial time. You can request to return to the standard rate at any time by calling 877-511-8062.
The contest runs until July 31, 2025. Five winners will be drawn and we will contact those members.
