Sioux Valley Energy, an electric cooperative that provides power to over 20,000 homes, farms, businesses, and industries in a seven-county area of east-central South Dakota and southwest Minnesota, has initiated Project E² (Energy Efficiency) to help educate members, contractors, and employees about the importance of energy efficiency and conservation. Project E² will include the construction of an affordable, energy efficient home with “off-the-shelf” technologies (systems and products that can be purchased locally) and a public awareness campaign. The project is endorsed and supported by the Home Builders Association of the Sioux Empire and the South Dakota Public Utilities Commission.
